TE MATATINI HERENGA WAKA HERENGA TANGATA NATIONAL KAPA HAKA FESTIVAL 2023

𝘽𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙆𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎
Te Matatini Incorporated Society has received confirmation that the following kapa haka have officially withdrawn from Te Matatini Herenga Waka Herenga Tangata Festival 2023.
They are:
• Taniwharau
• Hikurangi
• Te Kapa Haka o Te Whanau a Kai
• Te Matapihi
𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝟮(𝗯)𝗶𝗶 says that if rōpū from the National Festival withdraw the following applies:
𝗶. No Kapa Haka may replace that withdrawn Kapa Haka
𝗶𝗶. All Kapa Haka will move up in the Order of Performance.
As a result of these withdrawals the goal is to firstly, balance out the Pools to ensure there is a fair playing field, and secondly to balance out the number of kapa haka performing per day. This is reflected in the changes to the programme, as per below.
