After 4 months of intense competition across 12 regions in Aotearoa and one in
Australia, Te Matatini regionals drew to a thrilling close last Sunday 11 May 2024 in
Tāmaki Makaurau.
The Te Matatini Executive met to discuss the upcoming festival Te Matatini o Te Kāhui
Maunga and are collaborating with the hosts Te Kāhui Maunga to establish a programme
that is fair and equitable for those teams who have qualified to take the stage to vie for
the top award the Ngāpō Pīmia Wehi Duncan MacIntyre Trophy.
Once a decision is made a joint statement from Te Matatini and Te Kāhui Maunga will be
released.
