This rohe incapsulates the greater Manawatū, Horowhenua, Rangitīkei and Wairarapa ki Rangitāne. Tangata Rau is the senior regional competition that aligns with Te Matatini - Te Pītau Whakarei.

Adopting the ethos of “Mana Motuhake Ki Te Kāinga” has reaffirmed the importance to develop, promote and integrate all sectors of te ao haka within the wider Kurahaupō rohe.
