Te Tairāwhiti

Tairawhiti stretches from Potikirua to Mohaka, it encompasses Ngati Porou, Rongowhakaata, Ngai Tamanuhiri, Te Aitanga a Mahaki, Rongomaiwahine and Ngati Kahungunu ki te Wairoa. The regional competition Tamararo has been a significant influence in the growth of Tairawhiti Kapa Haka over 72 consecutive years. We've had the privilege of hosting Mana Kuratahi in 2009 and 2017, Kura Tuarua in 2014, The Polynesian Festival in 1977 and Te Matatini o Te Ra in 2011.
